Information Regarding Paper Presentation
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS FOR PAPER PRESENTATION AT THE 88TH INDIAN SCIENCE CONGRESS TO BE HELD AT INDIAN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE, PUSA, NEW DELHI, DURING JANUARY 03-07, 2001

For presentation of Papers at the 88th Science Congress, authors are requested to kindly note that
All papers to be submitted for presentation at the 88th Science Congress must be sent to the General Secretary, Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), 14, Dr. Biresh Guha Street, Calcutta- 700017. Each paper should be accompanied by three copies of abstracts (within 100 words, without any sketches, tables etc.) the name of the Section/Committee/Forum where the paper is to be presented should be indicated. The model format for abstract is given at the end.
Each author is entitled to submit two papers at the most.
Authors must be members of ISCA. ( Corresponding author must give a declaration that authors/co-authors are members of ISCA or will become members of ISCA.)
Papers received on or before August 16, 2000 will be treated as advance papers and if approved will be printed in Part III of the Proceedings of the 88th Science Congress.
Papers (along with abstracts) received after August 16, 2000 will be treated as late papers. The abstracts of these papers will be printed in Part IV of the Proceedings of the 88th Science Congress, provided these are presented and recommended by Sectional Presidents.
Contributed papers accepted on the basis of a careful screening would be presented only by way of posters. This decision has been taken to allow greater interaction between the authors and those interested in the presentations. Authors of accepted papers will be advised by the concerned Sectional Presidents about preparation of poster. Size of each poster should be 22x20(inches) or 55x51 (cm). To encourage Scientists, The ISCA has introduced a number of prizes for Best POSTER presentations in January, 1999. At most TWO prizes of Rs. 1000/- in cash along with a certificate will be awarded to the best presentation in each Section and at most eight prizes, ONE in each Committee/Forum during the valedictory function of the 88th Indian Science Congress.

Awards under ISCA Young Scientists Programme (only in Sections)
To encourage young Scientists, The Indian Science Congress Association has introduced a number of awards in January 1981. Each award carries a cash amount of Rs. 5,000/- and a certificate.
Only Members (Life and Ordinary) of the Association ( who had paid their subscription on or before August, 31st 2000 ) are eligible for consideration for the award. The upper age limit of the candidate for the award is 32 year as on December 31, 1999.

The details of the programme are given below
Three copies of full papers along with their abstracts in triplicate ( not exceeding 100 words) shall have to reach the office of the General Secretary (Headquarters) not later than August 31, 2000. At the top of each copy of the paper and its abstracts, the name of the Section where the paper is to be presented should be indicated.
Three copies of the Bio-data including full name and address along with the date of birth ( duly supported by attested copy of the certificate), research experience and Membership Number etc. should be appended to the complete paper.
Work should be carried out in India and this has to be certified by the Head of the Institution from where the candidate is applying.
The candidate should give an undertaking that the work which is being submitted has not been presented in any other Conference/Seminar/Symposium etc. and has not been submitted for consideration of any other award.
In case of a paper by more than one Authors, the candidate (young scientist) has to be acknowledged by the other author(s) ( in terms of a certificate) as having made the major contribution. A young Scientist could present only one paper in any one section ( an not a second paper with the same or any other context in any other section).
A maximum of six such young scientists in each section will be provided admissible traveling and daily allowances by the ISCA.
Names of awardees will be announced at the meeting of the General Body and the awards will be given by the General President at the Valedictory function of the 88th Indian Science Congress.
